What the role is

The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) is the training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. It drives capability development for the Singapore air hub and provides capacity building for the international aviation community. To ensure SAA’s continued relevance and to establish it as a centre of excellence for aviation knowledge, the SAA is undergoing a transformation of curriculum and learning spaces.

What you will be working on

Reporting to the Head (Facilities Management), you will work closely with the FM team to drive and oversee the SAA development project.

In coordination with internal stakeholders, government agencies, consultants and contractors, the FM team manages the SAA development project to ensure that the construction works are carried out safely, and be completed in a timely manner and within the approved budget. Your job will include engaging consultants, contractors and stakeholders to review design and mock-ups, administer variation orders and oversee the process management of obtaining approvals in a timely manner. You will be involved with some procurement works using the Government GeBIZ system.

In addition, you will work on improvement projects under the SAA FM team, design development works, and management of contractors, fit-out works and maintenance works.

Upon the successful completion of the SAA development project, you will go on to oversee FM maintenance work which includes the implementation of an integrated FM system.

What we are looking for

  • Trained in Building, Construction and/or Facilities Management with a relevant degree
  • At least eight years of relevant project management / building experience in delivering a construction project
  • Versatile self-starter, driven, resourceful, a good team player with the ability to multi-task
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and
  • Knowledge in Public Sector construction related procurement, Green Mark Certification, BIM, Project Management (like Primavera) and/or Navisworks will be advantageous

Note: Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
