Senior Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

• Allocate tasks to the team based on urgency and priority.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Train and mentor new mechanics to ensure skill development.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and oversee repair work for vehicles and machinery.
• Conduct final checks to ensure all repairs meet operational standards.
• Ensure rapid response to breakdown incidents and minimize downtime.
• Manage buffer stock for mechanics and monitor usage.
• Ensure all workshop equipment is well-maintained and operational.
• Order parts and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance.
• Prepare repair reports using Service Request Forms.
• Provide timely updates on repair progress and expected completion times.
• Investigate and resolve recurring mechanical issues.

Technical Skills Required:

• Extensive experience in servicing and repairing tipper trucks, lorry cranes, commercial vans, excavators, and construction machinery.
• Troubleshooting vehicle electrical systems, ECU units, and lighting systems.
• Diagnosing and repairing engines, DPF systems, batteries, alternators, transmissions, brakes, and starter motors.
• Servicing and troubleshooting hydraulic pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
• Repairing punctures, tire replacements, and wheel balancing for vehicles and machinery.
• Servicing vehicle cooling systems, including radiators and water pumps.
• Knowledge of fabrication work for damaged frames and body panels.
• Proficient in using heavy-duty wrenches, diagnostic tools, and lifting equipment.
