As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Assistant Technical Superintendent to support the Technical Superintendent and Fleet Management team. This role is ideal for candidates looking to develop their career in ship technical management.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Technical Superintendent will assist in the daily technical management of our bunker barge fleet, supporting maintenance planning, regulatory compliance, and technical troubleshooting. This role provides hands-on learning in ship management and an opportunity to advance into a Technical Superintendent role.
Key Responsibilities:
· Technical Support & Maintenance Planning – Assist in tracking vessel maintenance schedules and reviewing technical reports.
· Regulatory Compliance – Support compliance with ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS, and flag/class requirements.
· Dry-Docking & Repairs – Assist in coordinating dry-docking activities, repair works, and shipyard visits.
· Crew Coordination – Liaise with vessel crews for maintenance updates and troubleshooting.
· Spare Parts & Procurement – Assist in ordering spare parts, managing inventories, and monitoring costs.
· Budget & Documentation – Maintain records of repairs, costs, and vessel performance reports.
· Emergency Response Support – Be available for urgent vessel technical issues and emergency repairs.
What We’re Looking For:
· Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
· 2-3 years of sailing experience as a 2nd or 3rd Engineer OR 1+ year experience in ship management.
· Familiarity with bunker barge operations, machinery, and auxiliary systems.
· Strong knowledge of ISM Code, MARPOL, and ship classification regulations.
· Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Good communication and problem-solving skills.
· Willing to travel for ship inspections and audits.
