The role of the Assistant Manager / Manager includes, but is not limited to, managing key digital workstreams, including the Research Information Management System (RIMS) and A*STAR Open Access Repository (OAR), and supporting research compliance efforts, particularly in the areas of publication and open access. The incumbent will have the opportunity to establish digital library analytics for real-time tracking, and provide ongoing support for the digital library workstream. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to the promotion of research excellence by supporting the scientific awards nomination process and relevant scientific communications to elevate the profile of A*STAR researchers and teams, enhancing their competitiveness for scientific awards and contributing to broader efforts to foster and recognise research excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Research Support and Digital Workstreams:
Set up / maintain and enhance digital systems, including the Research Information Management System (RIMS), Open Access Repository (OAR), the scientific awards system, and digital library analytics for real-time tracking and reporting
Support budget tracking, conduct basic financial analysis, and administer fund disbursement for resource purchases
Manage ongoing digital library subscriptions, streamline internal processes, and generate usage reports to guide decisions on journal subscriptions
Engage with vendors, negotiate subscription costs, and manage e-journal procurement, including cost allocation for A*STAR REs
Coordinate with stakeholders and work cross-functionally to ensure timely procurement, continuity in service delivery, and cost management
Research Compliance
Ensure compliance and collaborate with A*STAR Research Entities to ensure timely submission of publications and comply with publication standards and open access (OA) requirements
Assist A*STAR researchers in adhering to institutional policies and ensuring research integrity and quality by putting in place / reviewing processes and adopting suitable tools, including supporting post-publication surveillance
Research Integrity Initiatives:
Promote and uphold research integrity by assisting with the development of educational materials and guidelines
Provide resources / advisory for internal stakeholders, ensuring proper understanding and adherence to ethical standards
Management of Scientific Awards
Identify opportunities for recognition and coordinate the scientific awards nomination and tracking process across whole of A*STAR
Craft compelling narratives to showcase the research achievements, and amplify the visibility and recognition of A*STAR researchers and teams
Facilitate the documentation and submission of nomination packages, including assembling evidence of impact, citations and endorsements
Showcase award wins and success stories through internal and external communication channels
General Duties
Prepare memos, proposals, presentations and other relevant materials
Support the management of budget and procurement process for various projects
Plan, organise and coordinate meetings and research activities
Perform other duties and administrative functions as assigned by Reporting Officer
Engage with vendors, negotiate subscription costs, and manage e-journal procurement, including cost allocation for A*STAR REs.
Requirements:
Fresh graduates with a relevant degree (e.g., biomedical sciences, engineering) welcome to apply
Interest in research support, digitalisation, research compliance, scientific communications
Basic understanding of publication standards and open access
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and analytical mindset, particularly in tracking and reporting data
Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Familiarity with MS applications (e.g., Word, PPT, Excel (Pivot Table, V-lookup), Power Automate, Power BI) and AI tools
