We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Planner to join our team and play a crucial role in the successful delivery of major construction projects. You will be the owner of the project schedule, responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting on project progress, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methodologies, excellent planning skills, and proficiency in Primavera P6.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain the comprehensive baseline programme (Programme of Works) for submission and approval, incorporating detailed construction programs for various trades.
  • Continuously monitor and track project schedules against the baseline, identifying and analysing critical path activities and potential delays.
  • Prepare and submit regular weekly and monthly programme updates, including S-curve reports, progress reports, and cash flow projections (annual forecasts and updates) to the client and internal management.
  • Develop detailed construction programmes for various trades (including detailed architectural programmes), considering site staging, utilization planning, procurement, and construction contract interface management.
  • Prepare all programming information and submissions to the Superintending Officer

Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for client submission.
  • Create and present monthly progress meeting slides for client meetings.
  • Prepare ad-hoc meeting slides for programme-related matters.
  • Attend meetings as required, coordinating with project teams to assess the impact of works and facilitate problem resolution.

Resource Management & Analysis:

  • Prepare manpower and equipment histograms, tables, earned value S-curves, and resource logs.
  • Cost-load the P6 programme for Cashflow Generation.
  • Identify and analyse programme risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies.

Process Improvement:

  • Serve as the owner of the Programme of Works and the Contractor’s project management procedures and processes, ensuring they are up-to-date and effectively implemented.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project planning and scheduling methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Building Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience using Primavera P6 software in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in construction planning and programme coordination for major construction projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sequencing construction activities, including site staging, utilization planning, procurement, and construction contract interface management.
  • Strong understanding of critical path method (CPM) scheduling and earned value management (EVM) principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive working attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
