Job Responsibilities
- Acts as the Company Security Officer and member of the Emergency Response Team.
- Perform onboard inspections to ensure compliance with Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental System.
- Help review the Company’s IMS and MLC for continual improvement.
- Prepare Company Safety bulletins/memo/circulars.
- Conduct casualty, incident, staff accident investigation and reporting.
- Monitor ISM/ISPS/MLC internal audit schedule.
- Perform security visit, training and security responses, meeting shell charterers’ requirements.
- Share security information and test the Ship Security Alert System.
- Prepare security memos, disseminate safety and security awareness/policies and procedures for the ship staff.
- Implement safety training plans, drills, and exercises to ensure a high standard of safety for all ships.
- Provide Fleet Management System training on the HSSEQ and QDMS module to ship staff and office staff.
- Review and/or approve:
- Fleet Management System updates for PI/Near Miss, FSC, PSC, drills, monthly safety committee meeting.
- Master’s reviews
- Shipboard training conducted by the ship staff
- Incident investigations
- Hot work permits
- ISM/ISPS/MLC Internal audits
- Risk Assessment and Management of Change (where applicable)
- Oversee training program for cadets.
- Audit or verify shipboard training, drills and exercises.
- Carry out other adhoc duties assigned by the Management.
- Possess Certificate of Competency (Deck) Class 1 / 2 or Diploma in any Marine related disciplines
- Good communication / Written skills in English
- Able and willing to travel overseas to visit or sail with company vessels or other vessels as and when required
