Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) with expertise in Digital Payment Technologies (DPT) to lead our financial crime compliance program. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payment systems, regulations, and emerging risks within the payment industry, ensuring the company meets all regulatory requirements while mitigating potential financial crime risks.
Job Description:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a compliance framework aligned with the Payment Services Act (PSA) and other relevant regulations in the payment industry.
- Oversee AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and CFT (Countering the Financing of Terrorism) programs, focusing on transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and reporting suspicious activities within the payment systems.
- Lead and manage the integration of compliance measures into digital payment technologies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Coordinate internal audits, risk assessments, and reviews to identify and address compliance gaps in payment services.
- Organize and conduct compliance training sessions for staff to ensure awareness of regulatory obligations and financial crime risks specific to payment technologies.
- Investigate compliance incidents, manage risk mitigation processes, and recommend improvements to payment compliance controls and processes.
- Ensure the company’s payment services remain compliant with evolving local and international regulations related to payments and digital transactions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, or related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial crime compliance, with significant exposure to payment systems, fintech, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of digital payment technologies (e.g., digital payment tokens, mobile payments, blockchain, digital wallets, and other fintech innovations).
- Expertise in regulatory frameworks specific to the payment industry (e.g., Payment Services Act, AML regulations, CFT guidelines).
- Proven ability to manage compliance functions and lead cross-functional teams within the payment sector.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to advise senior leadership on compliance risks in the context of digital payments.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE, or equivalent are preferred.
