What the role is:You conduct research on the information environment and keep abreast of the rapidly changing information environment as well as the technological landscape.What you will be working on:- Conduct horizon-scanning for emerging technologies and important developments - Explore new tools and platforms to assess their suitability for monitoring and analysis work - Work closely with stakeholders to design and implement new tools, including supporting doctrine development - Sense-make ongoing developments in the information environment - Translate collected data into insights to support planning and execution of information activities Challenge(s) - Breaking new ground to develop knowledge and understanding in a new area - Working under time pressure while remaining flexible and adaptive to changes - Collaborating with various stakeholders across several agenciesWhat we are looking for:- Education in Computer Science, Mass Communications and Media, or Psychology is preferred - Good analytical and writing skills - Awareness of Singapore's political, defence and security developments, as well as current affairs - Acute awareness of regional and international technological developments - Creative problem-solving aptitude and proactive mindset towards addressing research challenges - Strong foundation or interest in research methodologies and theories in Media Studies - Ability to work well in a team - Proficiency in a vernacular language is advantageous (Applicants with no experience may apply.)
