We have an opportunity for an intern to assist the Life & Health Actuarial team with administrative tasks and projects. This position will be reporting to the Senior Life & Health Actuarial Analyst. It is ideal for current students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining a better understanding of actuarial reserving topics in the insurance industry.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the production of quarterly IFRS4 and local accounting figures.
  • Develop sensibility checks for IFRS17 production that can be quickly used to verify the accuracy of inputs.
  • Produce experience studies of treaties that diverge from pricing assumptions.
  • Support Long-Term Stress Testing (LTST) exercise for Climate Change Risk.
  • Support process innovation in cashflow and reserve production processes.
  • Support the reserving team by participating in historical reserve reviews.
  • Support the company in organising and planning Corporate Responsibility events.
  • Any other required duties, projects and tasks as assigned by the line manager or team members.
Key Requirements / Experience / Skills
  • Able to commit for 6 months (January to June or July to December) for at least 3 days a week. Priority will be given to students who are able to commit for 6 months on a full-time basis.
  • Currently working towards a university degree in a related field (Actuarial Science, Business, Economics, Finance etc.).
  • Eligible to work in Singapore (Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident).
  • Fluency in English is mandatory and fluency in other Asian languages is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in Actuarial & Finance areas (Familiar with IFRS4, IFRS17, Solvency II, MAS regulations) and knowledge or prior experience in an insurance related company is advantageous.
  • Strong desire to learn the ropes in preparation for a career in the insurance industry.
  • Team player with strong service quality mind-set, adaptable, analytical, independent, meticulous, proactive, reliable, resilient, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
  • Very strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
