Summary: To provide financial planning and analysis services to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial operations in compliance with internal policies and external laws and regulations.

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Role and Responsibilities:

Prepare reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Pass monthly adjustments on revenue and cost to ensure correct cut off.
  • Prepare Profit & Loss statements by services.
  • Analyse monthly results and business drivers. Provide commentary on variance analysis against budget and trend analysis.
  • Perform other ad-hoc analysis and prepare effective reports to support business decision making.

Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecast

  • Work with business partners to develop annual budget and update quarterly forecasts.
  • Ensure reasonable assumptions are applied in budget and forecasts and drive forecast accuracy improvements.

Prepare and review the following on a monthly basis

  • Review and approve bunker stock cards.
  • Perform accruals for charter hire and brokerage commissions.
  • Maintain port tariffs and related costs.
  • Verify agents’ disbursements and resolve disputes. Ensure appropriate funding to agents.
  • Coordinate with joint venture partners for timely submission of reports. Resolve disputes with partners.
  • Adherence to internal financial policies and procedures.

Audit and Compliance.

  • Prepare timely accounts schedules for audits.
  • Address and resolve audit concerns.

System Improvements and Ad-Hoc Projects.

  • Actively contribute to system enhancements and test new reports.
  • Support the implementation of new tools and solutions.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, with 3–4 years of relevant FP&A or accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous and organized.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
