We are looking for an experienced Senior Sales Engineer to join Leica Geosystems, a part of Hexagon AB that provides innovative solutions for the Surveying, Buildings, and Heavy Construction industries.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Sales Engineer will play a fundamental role in achieving the organisation’s ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. As a key member of the team, the main responsibilities are to build a network of contacts and relationships within all relevant markets with customers, prospects, influencers, industry bodies and specifiers to generate interest, identify and qualify opportunities and close sales and manage the ongoing commercial relationships.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Accountable for achieving sales targets and objectives as agreed.
  • Demonstration of equipment, using a collaborative approach to help customers solve problems, and save time and/or money.
  • Propose and conduct customer seminars.
  • Use consultative sales skills to understand customer challenges, to communicate the value proposition to various levels with the customer organization and to close sales.
  • Source new sales opportunities through marketing inbound lead follow-up, networking activity, social media engagement, outbound cold calls, emails and other channels.
  • Develop relationships and nurture suitable customers, prospects, influencers, industry bodies and specifiers to provide a regular stream of qualified and developed opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators to include the level of activity, pipeline, new revenue business opportunities and lead generation activity.
  • Build, manage and report on a pipeline of opportunities to cover monthly/quarterly target, ensuring accurate reporting in CRM database.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements and build strong relationships with customers and prospects.
  • Work closely with the sales team to generate ideas for company sales opportunities.
  • Maintain and expand your database of contacts within all relevant markets.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Candidates must be self-starters and highly motivated. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a selling team.
  • Proven sales and business development experience.
  • Ideally experience in the technical markets such as Surveying, Architectural, Civil Engineering and Construction work environment.
  • Ability to establish excellent working rapport with field sales teams, marketing, other team members and customers.
  • Candidate should be familiar with BIM solutions and digital construction workflows for Architectural, Engineering & Construction sectors and able to communicate value of digitalisation to various stakeholders within construction project (owner, architect, consultant, contractor, subcontractor etc)
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com desirable.
  • Experience in working with tenders
  • Experience working with influencing bodies within construction industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong listening and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
  • Able to work on sites e.g. construction
