
Principal Scientist, A*STAR ID Labs
A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR IDL) is seeking for a Principal Scientist to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR IDL aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.
Job Description:
- Leads conceptual and technical integration of various research studies to provide leading edge solutions in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) research and development
- Conceptualize and create new technologies, patents and publications
- Review and manage operating budget of grants and team
- Establish collaborations, develop scientific proposals and ensure timely achievement of project milestones
- Manage a team and provide scientific and career mentorship to researchers and students
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Infectious Diseases, Immunology or related field as above
- 4 years of post-PhD relevant experience
- Strong background in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics
- Strong publication record
- Highly motivated and ability to develop strong research ideas to secure grant and funding
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Good spoken and written communication skills
