Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in planning and organizing kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
Collaborate with the purchasing department to source high-quality ingredients and maintain good supplier relationships.
Assist in conducting regular kitchen meetings to communicate updates, discuss menu changes, and address any operational issues.
Assist in the development and implementation of cost-effective menu items to maximize profitability.
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining kitchen equipment, ensuring proper functioning and timely repairs.
Act as a role model for kitchen staff, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques, attending workshops or training sessions as necessary.
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Assist in scheduling kitchen staff shifts and managing labor costs to optimize productivity and efficiency.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and implement new cooking techniques and menu concepts.
Assist in conducting performance evaluations for kitchen staff and providing feedback for improvement.
Support special events and catering functions as needed, ensuring food quality and presentation meet client expectations.
