What the role is:The Carbon Mitigation Division (CMD) administers the Energy Conservation Act and the Carbon Pricing Act to mitigate greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions from the industrial and household sectors. For this role, you will join NEA as a member of a team within the Industry Regulation 1 Department (IR1D) of the Carbon Mitigation Division, which administers the measurement, reporting and verification requirements under the Carbon Pricing Act. Your work will be technical in nature and will involve liaising closely with industrial facilities and accredited auditors to ensure their compliance to regulatory requirements. Your job will involve both desk bound work and on-site inspections of industrial facilities.What you will be working on:You will be responsible for the following:Validate the monitoring plan or changes to the monitoring plan submitted by taxable facilitiesConduct surveillance audit on accredited auditors during their verification of the GHG emissions and production data of taxable facilities, and assess compliance with regulatory requirementsDocument findings/observations after each surveillance audit and follow up with verifiers to address compliance issues (if any)Verify the accuracy of the GHG emissions reports and production data reports submitted by taxable facilities, and follow up with taxable facilities to address compliance issues (if any)Analyse GHG emissions and product data trends of taxable facilities and present findings to companies' managementLiaise with industrial facilities to address queries, and assist them in the registration and submission process for regulatory requirementsWhat we are looking for:Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringAt least 10 years of working experience in an industrial plant is preferredKnowledge of ISO 14064-3, GHG protocol and relevant IPCC guidelines would be an advantageHighly self-motivated, independent and resourcefulMeticulous with an eye for detailOrganised and able to multi-taskProficient in Microsoft Office, eg.
