What the role is:The Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG) undertakes the statutory functions in the rehabilitation of adult and youth offenders, and the protection of children, families and vulnerable adults (VAs). Our mission is to empower individuals and families to break cycles of abuse, neglect and offending. As part of the RPG family, the Adult Protective Service (APS) is a statutory service that leads in the policies and processes to safeguard the safety and well-being of individuals, families and vulnerable adults experiencing violence, abuse or neglect.What you will be working on:This is a new function in APS that will attend to emergency cases. Reporting to the Manager/Senior Manager, your role is to undertake emergency case management duties such as immediate safety planning and intervention work for high-risk domestic violence clients experiencing violence, abuse or neglect. You will also assist to develop operational processes, policies, systems and training to support the team. You will be working closely with APS' professional partners to ensure an effective protection system for family violence and vulnerable adult survivors. As Manager (Domestic Violence Emergency Response Team), you will:  Carry out statutory functions under the Women's Charter, Vulnerable Adults Act and Children and Young Persons Act in the protection of domestic violence, vulnerable adults and children cases such as conducting on-site response to emergency cases, issuance of court notices to ensure safety etc;  Respond to high-risk cases on-site that involves domestic violence, vulnerable adults and children, conduct safety assessment and implement immediate safety planning to ensure their safety, during and after-office hours;  Collaborate closely with the professional partners to ensure coordinated case management for the safety of the domestic violence, vulnerable adults and children and their families;  Develop and implement operational processes and policies to guide the team's operations;  Work closely with the planning team to identify key competencies and trainings for the team; and  Identify and engage key professionals to collaborate and build up interface to facilitate a smooth service delivery.What we are looking for: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline (i.e. Sociology) from an accredited institution  Prior experience in working with domestic violence and/or vulnerable families is an advantage  Good interpersonal and communication skills  Good assessment, problem solving and multi-tasking skills  Empathetic with high level of emotional resilience and ability to work calmly in stressful situations and environment  Tenacious and nimble in handling difficult clients and/or situations  Enjoy teamwork and able to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment  Basic understanding of the local social service sector  Proficiency in Chinese dialects, Malay, Tamil or Hindi is an advantage  Able to do shift workAbout Ministry Of Social And Family Development:“We are Professionals with Passion for People” The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) develops the “heartware” for Singapore through our policies, community infrastructure, programmes and services.
