Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a highly motivated Legal Counsel to join the team, supporting operations across the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on Australia Funds Reg. This Singapore-based role will provide legal expertise on commercial and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks in a fast-paced financial services environment. You will work closely with senior leadership, offering strategic legal advice, drafting and negotiating key agreements, and preparing various contracts. You will also support regulatory queries, oversee the implementation of new industry regulations, and contribute to governance reporting. The position involves collaboration with business heads across the region in a matrix, participation in internal committees, and liaising with global legal teams.Requirements
- Degree in Law with at least 3-5 years working in an international law firm or inhouse corporate Legal experience in a MNC financial services environment, additional experience in a Custody or adjacent sector like securities services is a plus
- Minimum 3 years of APAC/Australasia multi-jurisdictional regional experience with current knowledge of Australian contract laws on funds and regulatory environment
- Proven ability to work in a matrixed organization and collaborate with senior-level stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
