Working within the AWS APAC Public Policy team, the successful candidate will:
- Work collaboratively and transparently with policy makers and regulators to ensure alignment between core business priorities and public policy goals;
- Drive external engagement efforts on economic policy and regulatory issues;
- Build strategies to deepen relationships with external partners, with a focus on startups;
- Drive strategic third-party engagement and partnership with trade association, think tanks, non-profits, and academia;
- Manage and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs and key initiatives in concert with AWS business objectives, working closely alongside colleagues in other regions;
- Facilitate high-level engagements between AWS executives and key stakeholders, including senior government officials, regulators, industry associations and alliance partners to promote and advocate the company's public policy policies.
- 5+ years in public policy, with knowledge and understanding of economic policy and regulatory issues preferred.
- Written and spoken English-language fluency.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Strong knowledge of, and background in cloud computing policy developments in APAC.
- An advanced degree in a relevant discipline (Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, etc.) is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience and familiarity with digital policy and regulatory environments across multiple APAC jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships and networks with others.
- Demonstrated strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen.
- Ability to influence and strong negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at highest corporate and government levels.
- Ability to maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity, with a strong professional reputation in the industry.
- Self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups and cultures across an organization.
