Vice President, Business Development/ Deals (Based in Cambodia)
As Vice President, Business Development & Deals, you will be at the forefront of driving high-value real estate divestment and commodities transactions (e.g., gold and other assets), leading deal origination, negotiations, and closures. This role requires a highly commercial and results-driven professional with strong industry relationships and the ability to structure and execute complex transactions.
You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end deal lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to securing partnerships, negotiating terms, and finalizing contracts. As a front-facing leader, you will represent the firm in key negotiations, develop client and investor relationships, and ensure the seamless execution of deals. Additionally, you will oversee a team, including the Deals Associate, ensuring alignment between business strategy and transaction execution.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, high-energy dealmaker with a strong track record in real estate and commodities transactions, a deep understanding of financial and legal structuring, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deal Origination & Sales Leadership
- Develop and execute a proactive strategy for sourcing and originating high-value real estate and commodities deals.
- Cultivate relationships with buyers, investors, brokers, and institutional stakeholders to build a robust deal pipeline.
- Identify and assess new market opportunities, structuring deals that align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Lead the sales process, ensuring seamless communication between internal teams and external partners.
Negotiation & Deal Execution
- Lead high-stakes negotiations, structuring terms that maximize value while mitigating risk.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and compliance teams to ensure all transactions are legally sound and financially viable.
- Oversee the preparation and execution of key agreements, including LOIs, term sheets, sales contracts, and brokerage agreements.
- Troubleshoot potential deal roadblocks and work towards pragmatic solutions that drive deal closure.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for key investors, buyers, financial institutions, and commodity traders.
- Represent the company in meetings, presentations, and industry events to establish credibility and market positioning.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align deal strategies with overall business objectives.
Team Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Supervise and mentor the Deals Associate, ensuring alignment in deal structuring, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Oversee financial due diligence and ensure accurate reporting of deal performance to senior management.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, legal, and operations teams to streamline execution processes and reduce transaction friction.
- Help create concise and high-quality end deliverables, such as reports, presentations, proposals, or discussion materials, to clients or other stakeholders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in dealmaking, investment sales, or business development in real estate divestment, commodities, private equity, or corporate finance.
- Proven track record in origination, negotiation, and closing high-value deals, preferably in real estate and/or commodities (e.g., gold, metals, energy assets, etc.).
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to assess deal feasibility, conduct risk analysis, and structure transactions optimally.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, contract negotiation, and legal structuring of investment transactions.
- Existing industry network of buyers, investors, brokers, and financial institutions is highly preferred.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with experience in managing high-profile clients and institutional partners.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Business Chinese fluency is highly advantageous for cross-border transactions.
