Our client is an established private education institution that is registered with the Commitee for Private Education(CPE) and EduTrust certified. They provide MOE-approved coursework and internationally accredited programmes for students seeking to accelerate their learning.
The Head of Academic Department will report to the CEO with the following primary responsibilities:
- Ensure that the quality policy and quality management system is well understood, implemented and maintained by the department;
- Formulate policies and procedures, implement and monitor work plans and key performance indicators for Academic Department;
- Ensure that all personnel under your supervision are trained and/or have appropriate experience to perform the job independently;
- Ensure that work carried out by personnel under your supervision is in accordance with the documented requirements;
- Manage and develop the academic programmes by ensuring that the programmes adhere to the School's academic direction, philosophy and the highest quality and keep abreast of latest developments;
- Manage the teacher deployment of the programmes, ranging from selection, orientation to monitoring of teacher’s performance;
- Define and manage the training and development needs of the organization and individuals;
- Coordinate with QA team and subject specialist to uphold the quality and standards in the academic framework, benchmarking with national standards;
- Ensure that the learning outcome is managed and in line with the School's specifications;
- Develop and collaborate with key academic partners in line with academic strategy.
Job Requirements:
- Candidates must possess at least a relevant Master's Degree.
- Academic qualifications or professional qualifications and experience in Media Production/ Mass Communication.
- Teaching and/or instructional qualifications and experience will be advantageous.
- Experienced with working with students, parents/guardians and stakeholders.
- At least 3 to 5 year(s) of working experience in private education institutions(PEI) in management role will be advantageous for this position.
- Proactive and self-starter.
- Able to cope in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
- Able to multi-task and accurately keep track of multiple ongoing work matters, deadlines and tasks.
The following qualities will also be advantageous for the candidate:
- Good understanding of the Private Education Industry (PEI) industry and PEI operations in Singapore.
- Good understanding of ERF and EduTrust regulations and the ability to implement and operationalise the principles of the regulations into actual school affairs.
- Ability to communicate and correspond with relevant stakeholders and different agencies on various issues requiring sensitivity in handling.
