What the role is:The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) is a new government agency established to oversee Singapore's communicable disease preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. You will be part of a team that carries out epidemic intelligence, risk assessment and risk communications activities pertaining to global infectious disease threats, to support Singapore's public health response and preparedness for communicable diseases. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:o You will undertake daily horizon scanning to identify, verify and triage potential public health signals, events, and threats worldwide, including on weekends and public holidays. o As part of a team, you will conduct regular and ad-hoc risk assessments of verified public health events and threats and develop relevant risk communications collaterals for stakeholders. o You will communicate and liaise with overseas health authorities and international health organizations to fulfil Singapore's international public health responsibilities and obligations. o You may be required to undertake project work, and other administrative, developmental, procurement and fiscal responsibilities.What we are looking for:o Minimally a recognised tertiary education preferably Bachelor's or Master's degree in health science, epidemiology, public health or related fields o Work experience in public health-related field would be an added advantage o Detail-oriented o Objective and analytical mindset o Resilient under pressure o Good communication and inter-personal skills o Must be able to work outside office hours especially during outbreaks and other times of crisis.About Ministry of Health:The Ministry of Health's (MOH) vision is to champion a healthy nation with our people - to live well, live long and with peace of mind.
