Job Description:
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of the financing facilities offered.
  • Plan, manage, and allocate banking resources for shipments across various lenders, ensuring effective tracking and utilization.
  • Update, manage, and plan cash flow using spreadsheets and systems on a per-deal basis, including weekly reporting for spot and term deals’ cash flow requirements.
  • Propose and present financing requirements outside the established facility framework to banks, including discussions on security/collateral, KYC submissions, and other ad hoc requests.
  • Work closely with the operations team daily to validate and approve payment requests by cross-checking invoices and shipping documents for accuracy.
  • Resolve outstanding payment issues through communication with counterparties.
  • Supervise and maintain banking accounts across different banks and lenders.
  • Monitor and report risks related to prepayments, open accounts, amortization repayments, and stockpile loading schedules.
  • Perform reconciliation of debtor and creditor lists to ensure accuracy in outstanding payables and receivables.
  • Address inquiries and manage inspections from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely completion of monthly reports; advanced Excel, scripting, and programming skills are an advantage.
  • Facilitate the growth and enhancement of banking relationships by reviewing and negotiating term sheets and banking terms with financial institutions in the Gulf and Europe regions.
  • Evaluate shipment risk exposures and secure appropriate insurance, such as marine open cover, while overseeing insurance declarations.
  • Assist with KYC processes, facility renewals, account openings, and other operational tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in trade finance.
  • Proven experience in physical commodity trading within Asia.
  • Strong familiarity with trade finance, including UCP, ISBP guidelines, and banking TR procedures.
  • Deep understanding of trade finance processes, including LC, collections, shipping documentation, contract review, LC issuance, guarantees, bonds, and payment management.
  • Proficiency in Excel and programming.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks effectively in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
