Job Description

The Office of Admissions (OAM) oversees full-time undergraduate admissions, scholarships and financial aid. Reporting to the Provost's Office, OAM develops and implements policies and operations related to undergraduate admission, award and administration of scholarships and financial aid, and markets the university's undergraduate degree programmes.

The incumbent will support the Outreach team in developing and executing strategies to engage with high school students both locally and internationally. This position aims to promote NUS as a top choice for prospective students by fostering relationships with educational institutions and other stakeholders and organising outreach activities to meet the university’s undergraduate recruitment objectives. This role requires excellent communication and time management skills, a passion to expand the university's reach to prospective students worldwide, and the ability to connect with diverse audiences.


Key Responsibilities

1) Outreach

  • Coordinate and participate in outreach events (both locally and internationally), such as school visits and talks, open houses, education fairs and webinars, ensuring successful execution and high engagement levels.
  • Identify and assess new opportunities for outreach to enhance diversity and reach.
  • Prepare and present digital content aimed at enhancing the university's appeal to prospective high school students.
  • Gather and analyse feedback from outreach events to help improve future initiatives.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate update of outreach events and attendance/participation numbers in databases.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support/back-up to colleagues.
  • Travel overseas occasionally for international outreach events.


2) Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain good relationships with high schools and key stakeholders locally and internationally.
  • Serve as a liaison between OAM and high schools to facilitate collaboration, address inquiries and guide counsellors, educators and students in admission requirements.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of outreach efforts.
  • Foster cohesive internal team relationships to align outreach efforts with organisational objectives.


3) Marketing and Communications

  • Leverage social media and other digital platforms to enhance student engagement and visibility.
  • Design/create promotional collaterals and digital content tailored for high school audiences.
  • Plan and organise campaigns, advertisements and publications, ensuring the information is presented accurately and on schedule.


4) Student Ambassador (SA) Programme

  • Monitor ambassadors’ live chat interactions with visitors of OAM website to ensure timely and accurate responses.
  • Collate and analyse interaction reports to detect trends, pain-points and feedback for improvements to admissions/outreach processes.
  • Mentor ambassadors in outreach activities to foster their professional growth and development.


5) Procurement and Budgeting

  • Plan and execute procurement of marketing collaterals and services for outreach events, ensuring organisational policies and budgets are adhered to and need-by deadlines are met.


6) Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • A recognised Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in the education industry preferred but candidates without experience are welcome to apply.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated good time and project management skills in planning and prioritising work to meet competing deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, HTML, GA4, and software for design and photo-editing.
  • Familiarity with social media and digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team and possess a positive learning attitude.
  • Ability to assimilate processes and information quickly and communicate requirements/issues clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally as required, and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus.
