Accountant (Revenues & Transactions)
Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking to hire an Accountant (Revenues and Transactions) to join the Finance Department. The Accountant (Revenues and Transactions) will be accountable for the daily operations of accounting functions in the school, with main responsibilities for reconciliation of revenues, bank accounts, accounts receivable (AR), fee protection scheme (FPS) and relevant finance administration.
Duties & Responsibilities
Management of revenues and transactions
- Manage the overall Billing and collection process, from invoicing of termly fees / school activities / any other revenues to drawing up reminders timeline and organising effective follow up procedures, ensuring strong billing collection record and timely payments.
- Propose instalment plans and any deadline extension requests for Bursar’s approval, while ensuring high level of customer experience.
- Prepare revenue reconciliation and consolidate the Billing Collection Report for reporting to Bursar and HQ.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reconciliation reports for bank accounts and relevant Balance Sheet accounts.
- Oversee and to be hands on in the Billing process for issuance of official documents, including tax invoices, receipts, credit notes, statements of accounts, and email distribution to parents, ensuring compliance with the PDPA, College guidelines and legal regulations.
- Be the main point of contact for parents’ assistance, electronic payments, and any collection related matters.
- Supervise the Accounts Receivable Team on Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) and PDPA related matters.
Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) Administration
- Responsible for the administration of FPS purchase and cancellation, maintenance of FPS Master File in compliance with the relevant CPE / SSG and EduTrust requirements.
- Liaise with Quality Assurance, Admissions team and relevant support staff for the review of FPS in alignment with CPE / SSG and Edutrust requirements.
General Ledger
- Prepare journal entries for school activities and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Perform timely monthly closing to meet the group reporting timeline, including preparation of balance sheet schedules.
- Responsible for on-going compliance work and for liaising with internal and external auditors and all other statutory bodies.
Any other duties as are commensurate with the position.
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised accounting qualification.
- Minimum relevant experience of 3 years, preferably with some audit experience.
- Preferably has prior experience with FPS administration (advantageous to have)*;
- Possess good understanding of Singapore accounting and tax policy;
- A team player with good communication skills who is also able to work autonomously with little supervision;
- Have effective customer service skills and the ability to manage both internal and external customers;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word);
- Meticulous and able to process data with high degree of accuracy;
- Flexible in their approach to managing their workload and have the ability to deal with deadlines and the prioritising of own workload.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, in particular MS Excel.
- Experience with accounting software eg D365 is an added advantage.
The salary range for the role is $4,000 - $4,700 per month.
