
Registered Nurse
Key Performance Area

Clinical Care
· Work under supervision of Nursing Officer to analyse, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for residents.
Co-ordinate and implement care plan for the residents.
· Pack and serve medication and update of residents medical records.
· Conduct rounds to ensure residents are well and safe and report any abnormality for immediate / timely
treatment, follow up with nursing supervisor.
· Assist in Doctor's rounds of treatment / examination of residents.
· Identify problems related to illness and decline in functional, cognitive abilities and advocate early medical
intervention.
· Be familiar with all aspects of nursing care and emergency evacuation procedures so as to be able to manage emergencies that may arise.
Quality
· Assist and supervise activities and rehabilitation programmes to improve the quality of life for residents.
· Maintain systematic inventory control of drugs in the wards and equipments in order to achieve optimal
utilization and safe storage.
· Practise proper decontamination procedure / disposal of sharps and syringes and infection control in the wards.
· Promote effective and co-operative working relationships among colleagues in the ward and good
communication skills when dealing with complaints / feedback from relatives and visitors.
· Participate in MDR rounds, QA programmes, organisational committees, workgroup activities.
Training & Development
· Supervise and guide subordinates ( EN/NA/HCA ) in their duties. Evaluate and coach performance of all staff
within their scope of responsibility.
· Provide health education to residents and their families.
· Orientate new recruits in their respective duties.
Administration
· Assess and determine suitability of residents referrals ( means testing ) through initial screening, conduct full
assessment on admission and periodic review of nursing care plans and documentation.
· Update all nursing records and reports.
· Ensure all documentation of residents care management records are kept confidential, maintained, filed and
stored accordingly.
Ad-hoc Duties

Assist Nursing Officer in planning, organising and implementation of quality improvement programmes.
Job Specification
Qualification :
Foreign : Must serve the Home as Enrolled Nurse for at least 5 years before passing SNB exam for Registered Nurse; Diploma / Degree in Nursing from their home country.
Local : Pass SNB exam of Registered Nurse; Must have SN experience in Hospitals or Nursing Homes.
Experience :
Staff Nurse ( SN ) : about 10 years experience.
Senior Staff Nurse : Must have 8 to 20 years SN experience.
