
Healthcare Assistant
Key Performance Area

· Personal Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming, ensuring their dignity and privacy are respected at all times.
· Mobility Assistance: Help residents with mobility needs, including transferring, positioning, and walking, using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injuries.
· Medication Management: Support nursing staff in administering medications to residents according to prescribed dosages and schedules, while adhering to medication management protocols and maintaining accurate records.
· Monitoring Vital Signs: Regularly monitor and record residents' vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to the nursing team promptly.
· Assistance with Meals: Assist residents with meal times, including feeding assistance when necessary, ensuring dietary preferences and restrictions are observed, and encouraging adequate nutrition and hydration.
· Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, engaging in meaningful interactions and activities to promote socialization and mental well-being.
· Housekeeping Duties: Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by performing light housekeeping tasks such as making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring communal areas are organized and free from hazards.
· Assisting with Recreational Activities: Participate in recreational and therapeutic activities designed to promote physical and cognitive stimulation, assisting residents as needed to enhance their overall quality of life.
· Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and multidisciplinary team members, sharing relevant information, observations, and concerns to ensure coordinated care delivery.
· Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to regulatory standards, policies, and procedures governing healthcare practices in the nursing home setting, accurately documenting care provided and any significant changes in residents' conditions.
Ad-hoc Duties

· May be appointed as a fire warden for the ward to assist in emergency respond if required.
Job Specification
Qualification: Secondary school or NITEC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience Level: Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role, particularly in a nursing home or long-term care facility, is desirable.
