SMALLWOOD is an international design firm headquartered in Atlanta, USA, with a thriving design office in Singapore. Our Singapore office is home to a seasoned team of design professionals delivering innovative and world-class design solutions for hospitality, residential, office, and master planning projects.

We’re expanding our core design team and looking for a talented and motivated Intermediate Designer for Architectural projects to join our Singapore office. If you're passionate about hospitality design and eager to work on large-scale international projects, this is an excellent opportunity for you. With a focus on hospitality, we offer the chance to gain international experience while working on projects across Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, and Africa. You’ll collaborate closely with Senior Interior Designer/Design Lead, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the development of innovative, high-quality design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare detailed technical drawings, including floor plans, sections, elevations, and construction details, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design intent as the project transitions from Concept Design through Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documentation stages.
  • Coordinate with technical consultants and contractors to ensure design consistency and technical feasibility.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with local codes, international standards, and project-specific requirements.
  • Review and integrate design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct internal reviews to ensure technical accuracy and quality of deliverables before submission.
  • Maintain digital file management standards, and proper documentation archiving.
  • Collaborate with Junior Designers and provide guidance on technical matters.

Qualifications Skills:

  • Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Architectural design, with expertise in executing hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects from Concept to Construction Documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite and other design software.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working on large-scale international projects is an advantage.
  • Leadership experience in mentoring and guiding junior designers
