What the role is:As a Research Associate, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of topics focusing on key socio-economic issues in Singapore. There are two Research Associate roles, each respectively focusing on a range of: • policy communications and population dynamics; and • social and digital issues (e.g., social inequality, ageing, online safety, artificial intelligence)What you will be working on:You will work with full-time analysts and undertake assignments to support their work, such as to build understanding of policies and issues, and to inform research scoping and design. You can expect to learn more about how research is executed and translated into actionable insights across the government. Your responsibilities may include: • Conducting literature review to understand macro trends and landscape, distil case studies from local and overseas, provide critique of existing policies and identify gaps • Contributing to scoping and defining research objectives based on literature review findings; designing research tools and materials (e.g. questionnaire, discussion guides) used in primary research • Analysing data to understand audience segments, uncover blind spots, brainstorm new areas of inquiryWhat we are looking for:(Please indicate your period of availability in your resume.) • General interest in current affairs, public policy issues • Fields of study in the Social Sciences and Humanities; Business and Economics • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills and able to present ideas coherently • Some research and/or data analysis experience preferred but not necessary • Some knowledge or interest in SPSS, R, Python, or data analytics will be advantageous, but not necessary Please note that only shortlisted candidates would be notified.
