About the role

McConnell Dowell seeks a construction manager to support tenders and deliver work for our upcoming civil marine works project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily project activities, ensuring work schedules meet delivery targets.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and authorities while maintaining strong relationships and a positive public image.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Manage subcontractors, plant resources, and material procurement.
  • Lead and motivate the workforce to ensure efficient project execution, timely reporting, and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Promote a professional image and maintain a harmonious client relationship throughout the project.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have;

  • Industry-relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in construction with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Competent in understanding and promoting HS&E imperatives and MMS procedures.
  • Proven record in planning, organizing and leading a diverse labor force.
  • Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills, clear communication verbal and written.
  • Manages to timeframes, cost-conscious, and achievement driven.
