Frazer Jones is exclusively partnering with a well-established, large manufacturing organisation to identify an experienced and accomplished Head of Industrial Relations. This newly created and transformative role will play a pivotal part in partnering with senior leadership and the wider HR team, spearheading the overall industrial relations strategy to support the organisation’s unionised workforce and nurture positive relationships.

The Head of Industrial Relations will take responsibility for leading and managing all industrial relations activities. The role involves ensuring compliance with employment laws and collective agreements, while also contributing to strategies aimed at enhancing employee engagement and resolving conflicts.

The ideal candidate will bring over 15 years of expertise in dynamic, fast-paced environments and have significant experience managing diverse workforces, including blue-collar employees. A proven track record in developing and executing industrial relations strategies that align with broader business objectives is essential.

The role will involve representing the organisation in fostering and maintaining strong relationships with unions, employee representatives, and government bodies. Providing strategic advice to senior management on union negotiations and labour relations matters, the successful candidate will also oversee conflict resolution and negotiation processes, ensuring equitable outcomes for all parties. As the subject matter expert on industrial relations, the Head of Industrial Relations will also mentor and lead the IR and HR teams, ensuring their knowledge remains current and relevant.

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the ability to navigate large, complex organisations and demonstrate the strategic insight necessary to lead the overall industrial relations strategy. A deep understanding of Singapore’s labour laws and industrial relations practices is critical. Experience working within unionised environments in industries such as manufacturing, with at least five years in a senior position, will be a distinct advantage.
