The Luo Lab, based in the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, is seeking a highly motivated, goal-driven, and team-oriented Research Assistant/Associate, Structural Biology to join our team. Our research focuses on understanding the fundamental mechanisms of RNA virus infection and host defense and structure-guided antiviral development, utilizing interdisciplinary approaches spanning biochemistry, structural biology, virology, and cell biology.

The NTU Institute of Structural Biology provides outstanding infrastructure, including facilities for high-resolution cryo-EM/ET, X-ray crystallography, NMR, and other biophysical techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the PI and team members to perform experiments, document results, and analyse data.
  • Assist purchasing of equipment, materials and consumables and provide general supports for the lab.
  • Keep track of cell lines, plasmids and other reagents and materials in the lab.


Key Competencies and Requirements:
  • Candidates should have a Bachelor's (for Assistant level) or Master's degree (for Associate level) or equivalent in any relevant fields of cell biology, biochemistry, virology or structural biology.
  • Previous research experience or laboratory training in molecular cellular biology is desired but not essential.
  • Experience working with biological electron microscopy is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized with good communication and technical skills.
  • Be able to work independently and collaborate effectively in a highly diverse and interdisciplinary team.
