About the Role

We are looking for a Account Director (B2B) to lead high-profile client relationships, drive strategic growth, and deliver outstanding marketing and communications solutions. This role requires a seasoned leader who thrives in managing complex B2B accounts, understands integrated marketing strategies, and can build strong client partnerships while driving measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a go-getter who jumps on new opportunities, is a master internal orchestrator, self-starter, gets nerdy about what they do, and works quickly and flexibly to get the job done. You love seeing campaigns/projects come to life and performing successfully.

Responsibilities:

Client Leadership & Strategic Advisory

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior clients, providing strategic counsel on B2B marketing, digital campaigns, web, media and demand generation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite and senior stakeholders, ensuring long-term account growth.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of clients’ industries, business goals, and competitive landscapes to inform marketing strategies.

Account & Team Management

  • Lead cross-functional teams (creative, strategy, media, analytics, data) to deliver integrated B2B marketing campaigns that drive engagement, achieve campaign effectiveness, pipeline growth, and revenue impact.
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring high-quality execution across all touchpoints, from strategy to creative to performance optimisation.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to maximise efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop junior account personnel, fostering a high-performance team culture.
  • Partner with clients on briefs to communicate project requirements for strategy, creative, media, data and copywriting teams.
  • Create and update all project timelines, manage spreadsheets, creative folders and other shared documents across platforms that include Google, Slack and Microsoft Teams
  • Manage all processes required to obtain a range of client approvals
  • Work with an internal cross-functional team to ensure deliverables are produced on time, on budget, and to client’s specifications
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication with all parties.
  • Attend all meetings with client project leads and communicate deliverables and key dates to all teams
  • Oversee all scheduling of key internal and external meetings to ensure input and feedback is received to facilitate advancement of the project. Collect and summarise client feedback, ensure it is reflected in revisions
  • Manage / maintain any internal ticketing or project management systems used by the client (when needed).

Marketing & Commercial Growth

  • Drive innovation in B2B marketing strategies, leveraging data-driven insights, ABM (Account-Based Marketing), and digital transformation.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts to grow revenue and deepen partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (strategy, creative, media, and analytics) to continuously improve campaign effectiveness and ROI.
  • Keep up with B2B marketing trends, AI-driven solutions, and emerging technologies to drive thought leadership and competitive advantage.

About You

The Essentials:

  • Proven Expertise : At least 10 years of marketing experience in a fast-paced, independent environment, preferably with some B2b marketing, account management or B2B agency experience, with a track record of managing high-value client accounts. Highly entrepreneurial and able to work as a team of one on the day to day, laddering up to Account leads and coordinating work streams across cross-functional internal teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to execute large-scale strategies and programs, translate complex business goals with experience managing diverse sets of digital marketing programs mapping back to larger strategies and achieving key objectives. Comfortable with data, and analytics to measure and optimise programs.
  • Client-Centric: Strong relationship-building skills with a consultative approach to solving client challenges.
  • Commercially Driven: Experience in growing client accounts, driving revenue, and optimizing marketing investments.
  • Marketing Savvy: Deep knowledge of B2B marketing strategies, including demand generation, ABM, content marketing, digital media, and performance analytics.
  • Results-Oriented: Ability to measure success through KPIs, ROI, and marketing attribution models.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience managing teams, mentoring talent, and fostering collaboration.
  • Fun: You work hard but like to enjoy what you do and have fun in the process
