[What the role is]

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, International Trade Business in the School of Business & Accountancy.

[What you wil be working on]

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and update teaching materials and conduct lectures, tutorials and workshops.

  • Develop/set and mark assignments, project, quizzes and tests related to the module(s) assigned.

  • Keep records of student attendance and grades.

  • Support student learning and development through student consultations and mentoring.

  • Take on committee portfolio and ad-hoc projects that support the school’s mission.

[What we are looking for]

Candidates should have undertaken one or more functional roles in international trade and business operations (such as procurement / sourcing / planning / operations / logistics / trade management / marketing / business development) and have a good understanding of how integration of these functions can add value to international businesses.

Candidates with experience in the following areas will have an advantage:

  • international trade law / contracts.

  • international trade finance.

  • commodity markets.

  • business analytics.

  • technology and digital transformation initiatives such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), e-commerce and automation.

  • business innovation initiatives such business process improvement, supply chain network optimization, environmental and social sustainability programs.

He/She should be able to teach in both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses.

Pre-requisites:

  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience for Lecturer position and at least 6 years’ relevant experience for Senior Lecturer position …. Teaching experience will be an advantage.

  • A nurturing mindset with passion for working with young adults and mature learners.

  • Ability to use innovative teaching strategies to motivate learners.

  • Competent to plan, develop and teach international trade and business operations - related modules.

  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in MS Office applications including Power BI. Proficiency in the use of SAP and/or Cargowise will be an advantage.

  • Industry certification in Procurement, Business Analytics, Project Management, Six Sigma and/or Sustainability will be advantageous.
