
LOGISTIC AND OPERATION MANAGER
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Operations Manager to join our growing team at Recheer Resources (Singapore) Pte Ltd, a leading metal commodity firm in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all logistics operations, focusing on handling Letter of Credit (LC) arrangements with banks, coordinating warehouse bookings, and overseeing the shipment of goods to clients whenever necessary.
This position requires strong expertise in maritime logistics, supply chain management, international trade documentation, and financial coordination with financial institutions. The Logistics Operations Manager will ensure the efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of metal commodities to our clients while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. LC Arrangements & Financial Coordination
- Manage the preparation and submission of Letter of Credit (LC) documents for each transaction in collaboration with banks.
- Ensure compliance with banking requirements and terms outlined in the LC agreements.
- Coordinate with the Finance Department to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payment terms.
- Monitor and manage the timely issuance and amendments of LCs to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Work closely with clients, banks, and suppliers to ensure the timely processing of financial documents.
2. Warehouse Management & Coordination
- Oversee the booking and scheduling of warehouse space for inbound and outbound shipments of metal commodities.
- Work with the LME registered warehouse teams to ensure the safe storage, handling, and inventory management of goods.
- Ensure that all LME warehouse operations are aligned with the company’s logistics and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the designated warehouse partners to arrange for the proper packaging, labeling, and preparation of products for shipment.
3. Shipping & Distribution
- Coordinate the logistics and shipment of metal commodities to clients, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Establish relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure optimal transportation and cost management.
- Track and trace shipments, providing regular updates to both internal teams and clients regarding the status of deliveries.
- Address any shipping delays or issues, ensuring minimal impact on client satisfaction and operational timelines.
4. Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain and manage all logistics documentation, including but not limited to shipping instructions, customs declarations, bills of lading, and commercial invoices.
- Ensure all operations are compliant with international shipping regulations, customs, and trade compliance requirements.
- Oversee and monitor the execution of contracts and terms with external logistics providers to ensure consistency with agreed-upon service levels.
5. Reporting & Analysis
- Generate and maintain reports on logistics operations, shipment performance, warehouse utilization, and financial coordination (LCs).
- Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Provide recommendations to senior management for process optimization, cost reduction, and increased efficiency in logistics operations.
6. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the point of contact for clients regarding logistics, shipping schedules, and delivery inquiries.
- Resolve any client-related issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner, maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Collaborate with sales and procurement teams to align logistics strategies with business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics and operations management, preferably in the metal commodities or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of international trade and financial documentation, especially Letters of Credit (LCs).
- Proven experience managing warehouse operations, including inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Solid knowledge of shipping regulations, customs requirements, and freight forwarding.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize under pressure.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in a Mandarin both verbal and writing is a plus.
- Experience working in a metal commodities or mining sector.
