About This Role

Lead & support the Manufacturing Engineering activity in Engine Overhaul/Component Repair Production Area. Act as Technical Authority, owner of the Engineering Standards in SAESL Operating System and ensure deployment of the initial and continuing process capability standard of the methods to the cell including the resolution of the technical issues/problems/arisings to meet operation cell requirements of safety, cost delivery rate and leadtime (SQCD).



Job Description



  • HSE – Responsible for ensuring that all processes and methods deployed within the cell/area of accountability are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm Programme
  • Product Safety – Responsible for ensuring that product safety risks are understood and mitigated to meet the required safety levels and reduce the safety risks so far as is reasonably practicable. Support requirements of the Company’s Safety Management System, and for promoting a product safety culture in the organization.
  • Safety & Quality – To promote a Behavioral Based Safety Culture. Together with Operation advocate ‘Speak Up’ and embed the elements of Narrate & Demonstrate in the areas of responsibilities.
  • Quality – Promote a culture of zero defects ensuring that manufacturing processes and methods within the business are developed and deployed to support Right First Time methodology. Coach the team in the use of SAESL Operating Sytem, DMAIC and Sytem Engineerin Tools. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies, and standards.
  • Cost – To provide leadership to Manufacturing Engineers to support operation cells to drive productivity and optimize OPEX costs.
  • Standards – define, maintain and enhance to SAESL Operating System Standards. Provide Tools for ME to imrplement the Standards, working with the cell/area of accountability and Process Owners, and where applicable with the suppliers, drive manufacturing processes towards identified consistent best practice. Identify, synthesise and locally govern the requirements for improvements and innovations in manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture within their area of accountability.
  • Lead – Act as Technical Authority specifying Manufacturing Engineering, process requirements, methods and make technical decisions in relation to the area of accountability including FAIR/MSA activities and Source & method change.
  • Lead – To provide leadership to drive accountability and enablement through engagement and coaching team members, so that everyone can be at their best.
  • People – Develop talent to meet the required competencies for the Manufacturing Engineers. Continuously seek to expand knowledge and experience to increase effectiveness in understanding existing and new activities.
  • Capability & Technology – Lead the technical input and integrate Manufacturing Technology, Digital Manufacturing and Product Introduction activities to support growth, capability and capacity to achieve operational planned objectives.
  • Deploy capability (including NPI) – Buy –off the production readiness of new manufacturing capabilities and assemblies. Develop numerate, real time methods for capturing process capability, and ensure it is available and acted on within the facility/supply chain. Maintain and/or govern Production Technical Packages (technical instructions, programmes, tooling, etc) for all parts/assemblies which clearly define the manufacturing process. Ensure manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture within the business and suppliers are capable of meeting and continuing to meet the requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate and time. Co-ordinate the technical support to operations and suppliers such that problems and arising are resolved in a structured and timely manner.
