What the role is:The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) aspires to be a world-class organisation in delivering safety and security for our people. The Registry of Societies (ROS) plays an important role in MHA through safeguarding Singapore's national security and public interest by administering the Societies Act and Regulations. You will be part of a team of officers that ensure regulatory compliance and promote best practice governance for societies.What you will be working on:The job holder will be instrumental in coming up with new programmes to enhance regulatory compliance of societies. He/she will contribute to ROS overall transformation efforts through the harnessing of technologies for a risk-calibrated approach for regulatory compliance, as well as introducing process improvements for societies registrations and applications. Principle accountabilities a. To develop and implement process improvements to: i. enhance the efficiency and reduce the duration required to register societies, and ii. improve compliance with Societies Act requirements. This could include process transformation, leveraging technology and engaging internal stakeholders to establish service level standards upon which they should provide their assessments of societies, to facilitate a more efficient registration process. b. Analyse data on societies to independently develop frameworks required to support the risk profiling of societies, enforcement and compliance of societies. c. Operationalise the improvements, and the regulatory compliance regimes solutioned. d. Support Deputy Registrar, ROS, in operating the compliance and regulatory regimes implemented, which may include investigations, establishing facts of case, composition fines management, etc.What we are looking for:
  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably with a leading role, in the area of regulatory compliance or enforcement. • Familiarity with technology solutioning and having a sound understanding of process improvements strategies is an added advantage. • Able to effectively communicate his/her proposed solutions to stakeholders to obtain their buy-in. • Dynamic team player who is passionate and committed to journey with ROS in our Transformation. Please note that this is a temporary position up till end-2027. All new appointees will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
