With a commitment to preparing students for success in a rapidly changing world, the foundation supports a wide range of educational initiatives across various regions.about the jobThey are looking for an experienced Regional Event Manager to lead a team of 6 that manages the logistics for a variety of education development events in the APAC region. This role is responsible for overseeing all event-related details, including venue selection, contract negotiations, registration processes, and the coordination of services such as travel, food, and meeting space for workshops hosted at hotels and schools. Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage a team of 6 events specialists to ensure that the scheduling, planning and execution of all developmental programmes are achieved.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, including hotels and venues, securing competitive prices for travel, food & beverage, room rentals, and other event-related services.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings to review event operations, share updates, and discuss best practices for improving event delivery.
  • Analyze attendance and feedback data to guide decisions on event capacity, cancellations, and improvements.
  • Oversee the region's online registration team, ensuring efficient handling of events and registration fee revenue.
  • Manage the expenditure side of the event budget, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines while achieving departmental financial goals.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a highly effective event staff team.
  • Review post-event reports from team members, identifying areas of success and opportunities for improvement in event execution.
skills and experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • At least 6 years proven experience in event management preferably within the education, higher education, educational administration and programs industries.
  • Leadership experience, with at least 3 years experience leading a team of 5 direct reports and developing a team to ensure high performance.
  • Strong experience in end to end event management, particularly within the education sector, including workshops, training, development programmes.
  • Experience managing larger scale events with up to 200-300 participants and in contract negotiation with vendors and hotels.
  • Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to connect and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passion and strong interest in the APAC international education industry
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining cross-functional relationships, with the ability to lead through influence.
