Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee Civil/Structural design and engineering activities for major construction projects, with a focus on deep excavation, cut-and-cover tunnel and building works.
  • Review and respond to contractor’s design queries, Method Statements, Material Submissions, Shop Drawings, etc.
  • Attend technical meetings and other ad hoc meetings.
  • Lead RFI meetings & facilitate discussions between Design Team, SO Rep & Contractor.
  • Provide technical support to the project team, contractors, and consultants, addressing challenges and offering solutions as necessary.
  • Review and monitor the progress of structural works, ensuring compliance with design standards, statutory codes, and quality control procedures.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (geotechnical, MEP, Architectural, etc.) to ensure smooth integration of C&S works within the overall project design and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory codes, safety regulations, and site supervision requirements set by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) of Singapore and other relevant authorities.
  • Manage construction administration tasks, including preparation and review of documentation, progress reports, and quality control measures.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal teams to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to C&S works.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as a civil and structural engineer, with at least 4 years in design coordination and supervision of works similar in nature to major construction projects.
  • Proven experience in C&S engineering for large-scale projects involving deep excavation, cut-and-cover tunnel and building works.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) of Singapore.
  • In-depth knowledge of C&S design principles, site supervision, quality control procedures, and construction administration.
  • Familiarity with statutory codes, regulatory requirements, and best practices for engineering works in Singapore.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
