Job Description:

  • Duties include working in pre-analytical, analytical, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation, technical validation and inventory management.
  • Operates and maintains sophisticated instruments and equipment used in the laboratory.
  • Able to properly set up, calibrate, maintain, operate and shut down the analytical instruments.
  • Perform all procedures in accordance with Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Processes, analyses, verifies and release results within the expected turn around time.
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements of the Laboratory Safety Manual.
  • Ensure that “critical value” of lab results are reported timely to the relevant appropriate personnel as well as resolve queries from customers as needed.
  • Maintains competence in Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement Programs and Proficiency Programs essential to ensure that laboratory testing is accurate, timely and meets customer needs.
  • Escalates lab issues to supervisors or lab management in a timely manner
  • Any other duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Biological Sciences/Biomedical Sciences/Medical Technology.
  • Preferably with some relevant experience.
  • A team player as well as working independently
  • Good working attitude and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to do detailed work and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Able to take up challenges
  • Good general health and no colour blindness
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to adequately maintain accurate records and follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Work Week: 5.5 day

  • Monday to Friday: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm
  • Saturday: 8.30 am to 1.00 pm
