What The Role Is

You conduct research on the information environment and keep abreast of the rapidly changing information environment as well as the technological landscape.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Conduct horizon-scanning for emerging technologies and important developments
  • Explore new tools and platforms to assess their suitability for monitoring and analysis work
  • Work closely with stakeholders to design and implement new tools, including supporting doctrine development
  • Sense-make ongoing developments in the information environment
  • Translate collected data into insights to support planning and execution of information activities


Challenge(s)

  • Breaking new ground to develop knowledge and understanding in a new area
  • Working under time pressure while remaining flexible and adaptive to changes
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders across several agencies


What We Are Looking For

  • Education in Computer Science, Mass Communications and Media, or Psychology is preferred
  • Good analytical and writing skills
  • Awareness of Singapore's political, defence and security developments, as well as current affairs
  • Acute awareness of regional and international technological developments
  • Creative problem-solving aptitude and proactive mindset towards addressing research challenges
  • Strong foundation or interest in research methodologies and theories in Media Studies
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Proficiency in a vernacular language is advantageous
