Job Summary:

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture within the organization, with a specific focus on Work at Height (WAH) safety measures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Workplace Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, Work at Height Regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WSH Act, Work at Height (WAH) Regulations, Codes of Practice, and industry safety standards.
  • Assist in preparing and updating risk assessments, safe work procedures (SWP), fall prevention plans, and safety documentation.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and Work at Height assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Liaise closely with Project Team, clients, main contractors safety representatives on all safety and health issues

2. Work at Height (WAH) Safety Management

  • Ensure proper implementation of Work at Height Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
  • Conduct pre-work inspections of scaffolding, ladders, MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms), and fall protection systems.
  • Ensure all workers involved in Work at Height activities are properly trained and equipped with personal fall protection equipment (PFPE).
  • Monitor compliance with fall prevention and fall arrest systems, including anchor points and safety harnesses.
  • Investigate Work at Height-related incidents and implement corrective actions.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum WSHC Certification (Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator) - WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health
  • Work at Height (WAH) qualification/certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in workplace safety coordination, including Work at Height safety.
  • Strong knowledge of WSH Act, Work at Height regulations, risk management, and incident investigation.
  • Experience in conducting WAH risk assessments, fall prevention planning, and rescue operations.
  • Good communication and leadership skills to enforce Work at Height safety practices.
  • Ability to work in high-risk environments such as construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas.
