Job Description:The candidate will be part of the dynamic Audience Development department which develops strategies in programming to help increase public familiarity with the Gallery's identity, mission, and services, with the goal of bringing the non-traditional museum going audiences into the Gallery.The candidate will be responsible for project management activities related to the execution and operation of large-scale visual arts festivals and artwork commission projects, with opportunities to co-develop artwork commissions and programmes with artists. The role will include managing technical design development, fabrication and installation of artwork commissions.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement full project life cycle plans for project management activities as well as all operational aspects relating to the delivery of the projects, including budget and schedule management, procurement and administration, fabrication and setup/installation, logistics and maintenance for projects.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, within scope and budget, and performed in adherence with relevant standards, guidelines, codes, regulations, policies, procedures and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, manage project reporting and coordinate audit/inquiry responses for respective projects.
  • Work collaboratively and coordinate project activities with relevant programmers, internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal resourcing and effective execution of the projects.
  • Keep pace with developments in arts-based audience and community engagement practices and strategies, access and inclusion practices, trends in engagement of children through the arts, Art X Tech trends, psychographic profiles of local arts audiences, and social impact of the arts.
Qualifications:
  • Min. 3 to 5 years of relevant project management experience in arts-related portfolio, including large-scale projects and festivals. Technical experience in artistic presentations is a plus.
  • Proven track record in managing complex and/or multiple projects effectively and delivering quality outcomes within challenging timeframes and budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills aimed at cultivation of positive relationships with diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Adaptable, resourceful, detail and process-oriented and hands-on with ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when necessary.
