Main Duties And Responsibilities
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with collection, reception, and processing of specimens.
- Proficient in basic laboratory practices.
- Strong technical/manual skills in Haematology, Microbiology, Molecular, Parasitology, and Endocrinology.
- Ability to train and mentor new/Vet Technicians.
- Extract and analyse hormones in a variety of exotic animal species to assess physiology such as pregnancy, effective contraception, and welfare.
- Conduct research projects on wildlife endocrinology with a focus on the development and application of non-invasive methods.
- Conduct semen analysis, cryopreservation and assist in artificial insemination procedures in a variety of wildlife species.
- Execute all procedures in accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Effective communication and liaison skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
- Knowledge of laboratory requirements for audits and the ability to ensure compliance.
- Experience in stock management and proficiency in the PR/RO & SESAMi process.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience with a Diploma/Degree preferably in Veterinary Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field or 4 years of working experience in a diagnostic laboratory.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Wilingness to work on weekends and public holidays when necessary.
- Meticulous and able to grasp new concepts quickly.
- Adaptability to a dynamic environment which includes working after hours occasionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
