The purpose of this role is to be part of the Asia Executive Committee and build upon our existing capabilities to drive additional consistency and value in our partner and customer strategy between our countries in Asia and with the broader QBE business outside Asia. Whilst primarily focused on overseeing the strategic direction and management of our international broker channels, leveraging your skills and experiences in optimising partnership strategies we see opportunities for you to partner with local broker teams.

Additionally, the role entails developing a comprehensive distribution strategy, enhancing market visibility, bid-management, driving pipeline management, and monitoring business metrics to support Asia's growth and performance objectives. With expectations of growth in more countries, through more partners, our ability to be the most consistent and innovative risk provider to each of them will be a critical enabler to growth.
Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships with key MTPs in key strategic markets and channels as per our strategic ambition.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements with respect to our distribution channels.
  • Consult, collaborate and contribute to joint planning with distribution, underwriting, claims, risk, strategy and marketing teams on our business goals and objectives.
  • Lead a central team and matrix team within countries, in partnership with Country CEOs and CUO.
  • Collaborate to set and agree on the partnership engagement strategy within Asia, including new business pipeline opportunities and retention by supporting the CEO, Asia, with building the full picture of our business across each MTP allowing QBE to get the best insight and leverage.
  • Manage and develop strategic partnerships with our international distribution partner and, to a lesser extent support local teams on monitoring and reporting on performance of their local broker, Agent and digital distribution partners.
  • Set the governance framework to ensure our partnerships are optimised to identify and deliver customer solutions into the market.
  • Be a thought leader in developing QBE Asia’s customer proposition, bringing in broker, clients, agents and employees within the development framework.
  • Manage bids for regional/multi-country and/or more strategic/innovative partnership opportunities.
  • Manage the oversight, development, and delivery of Salesforce within Asia.
Work Experience:
A successful candidate will need to be a great influencer, be a very strong communicator, be able to challenge and escalate a range of individual views that may not be the right answer in aggregation for QBE.
This includes
  • Having a macro mindset
  • Significant leadership and management experience, including broker and agent relationships, client engagement, and setting strategy.
  • Consistent track record of successful delivery of strategic and business plans.
  • Monitoring performance and correcting deviations by proposing appropriate action plans.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at a senior leadership level with attributes consistent with Executive leadership. Executive experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of the insurance market and products. Underwriting experience preferred.
