Business Engineering is looking for an impact-focused Engineering Manager leading full-stack development with an entrepreneurial approach. The team is composed of technology experts that apply their software engineering skills to bring a unique blend of business and technology expertise to ensure our partners succeed. Our team is at the intersection of business and innovation where you will execute on solving real-world business challenges through Meta's platforms and community in many of today's most exciting industries and products. These include Video, Commerce, Monetization, Metaverse, Gaming, Creators, AI, Messaging, Advertising, and more. This is a hands-on role where you will balance shipping production-grade code for Meta, cross-functional leadership, and people management. This role will allow you to apply problem solving, leading, and consulting clients that exceeds the boundaries of what is possible quickly, and at scale. Our approach aims to maximize positive impact for our partners as well as the billions of people that use their products and servicesBusiness Engineering Manager, APAC ResponsibilitiesManage and scale a talented team by attracting and mentoring people at various levels of experience to grow a productive and impact-oriented team around business/team needsBuild new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams and cross functional partners to meet business needsCommunicate information and context from the company and organization to the team and other stakeholders, influence the roadmap and product developmentDesign and build end-to-end systems and launch-plan strategiesBring unique insights of products and technologies and apply knowledge from industry, verticals and partner segments to fill a void that exists across our platformsPartner with appropriate stakeholders to make ongoing program and project decisions, leverage insights from the team, and make recommendations and/or decisions when issues ariseUse broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners, and resolve complex technical and business needsGuide workflow changes, and gain consensus from stakeholders while driving toward solutionsInfluence decision-making through presentation of data-centric business topicsSet clear expectations and goals, and assign projects aligned with team strengths, skills and motivations, provide guidance, and adjust management style to match the needs of the individualManage team performance, including coaching for career growthLead with care, recognize individual contributions, give and seek timely feedback, ensuring the team is healthy and sustaining productive relationshipsBuild and scale the team by identifying skills needed, interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding new employeesConduct Code reviews and provide thoughtful, meaningful, and constructive feedbackWillingness to travel two to four times a yearMinimum Qualifications11+ years of work experience in software engineering, including 4+ years of proven hands-on technical management experience of software engineersExperience with designing, building, and iterating on scalable software platforms applications and taking products from a nascent state to a level of maturityExperience growing teams and designing organizations to maximize impactExperience building software in languages like Python, Objective-C, PHP, C/C++, Ruby, C# or other programming languagesExperience building consensus within large cross-functional organizationsExperience proactively identifying and executing organizational, product improvements across several teamsExperience in translating technical concepts into language for audiences, including software engineers, business and technical leadersB.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience managing a team with multiple rolesExperience working with global teamsExperience with agile software development methodologiesKnowledge of the social media landscape globallyKnowledge of the AdTech eco-systemRelevant APAC experienceAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
