[What the role is]
CAAS is currently seeking a skilled and experience professional who will facilitate the safe and efficient growth of the Singapore civil aviation industry and contribute towards CAAS becoming a leading civil aviation authority, by executing regulatory safety oversight functions in the areas of manned aircraft type design validation, design and production organisation, modification and repair of products (e.g. manned aircraft and engine) and articles.
[What you will be working on]
You will be responsible for the initial airworthiness of Singapore-registered aircraft and verifying that aerospace organisations and airlines comply with CAAS regulatory requirements for the design, manufacture, and repair of products/articles.
Your primary responsibilities include the development of regulatory requirements and standards, certification of modification and repair of products/articles and their production, as well as providing engineering support in the monitoring of the continuing airworthiness of certified products/articles.
You will be part of the team regulating aircraft operations focusing on airworthiness-related matters, performing safety oversight on SAR 21 design and production organisations, and conducting investigations on aircraft incidents and accidents. You will also be involved in the development of engineering-related policies, guidance materials and standards, and approval of aircraft modification designs and repair designs.

o Safety system analysis
o Software certification and aircraft cybersecurity
o Aircraft communication systems
o Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
o Preferably possess knowledge and understanding of CAAS SAR Part 21, FAA 14 CFR Parts 23/25/33/27/29, EASA CS- 23/25/E/27/29
Note: Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.

[What we are looking for]

- Trained in Electrical & Electronics / Aeronautical Engineering with at least 5 years’ related experience in aircraft design certification, modification and repair
- Excellent in verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience and knowledge in the following fields will be an added advantage:

o Software certification and aircraft cybersecurity
o Aircraft communication systems
o Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
