[What the role is]

CAAS is currently seeking a skilled and experienced digital communications professional to join our team. This is a newly created role to drive greater focus and further develop our in-house competencies, ensuring delivery of highly relevant and engaging content, and showcasing our stories in an innovative and effective way across our digital communication channels.

The Head of Digital Communications will be an integral part of the CAAS Corporate Communications (CC) division and will work as part of a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary team of colleagues in ensuring that our digital communications would achieve our organizational goals. He/she will work closely with both CC colleagues as well as regulatory and policy teams in other divisions within CAAS, to oversee all aspects of online communications. This would primarily include corporate website(s), social media channels/platforms, and other digital forms of communications.

He/she will be expected to contribute to the strategic storytelling process, proactively capturing and leveraging stories across CAAS and strengthen CAAS’ position as the aviation sector lead, industry enabler and regulator locally and globally. A core part of the role includes developing and executing impactful communication strategies, projects and initiatives, leveraging upon relevant communication channels/platforms aimed at building mindshare, strengthening connections and engagements with targeted stakeholders at different levels and establishing thought leadership across the digital landscape.

[What you will be working on]

Key responsibilities of Head of Digital Communications may include:
Strategy and Content Development
  • Lead CAAS’ digital communications strategy and plans, working closely with senior management and policy/regulatory leads to ensure our digital activities achieves our communications objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, conceptualisation, design and production as well as distribution of high-quality content across various digital platforms like websites, social media, and email (where applicable).

Corporate Website
  • Work with web design agencies and other appointed agencies to ensure our website provides the best user experience with clear site architecture, navigation, page layout and calls to action, using data and insights to drive improvements.
  • Continuously drive improvements to CAAS website, working alongside CAAS teams to review, develop and produce relevant content including videos, infographics, animation and photography as part of our wider digital transformation efforts.
  • Ensure our website users are at the heart of all content developed, drawing upon data and insights and using agreed website user journeys and personas to drive content strategy.
  • Ensuring the company website is updated, user-friendly, and optimized for search engines.

Social Media and Community Management
  • Lead the strategy and execution of social media campaigns across different platforms
  • Produce audio-visual content that is engaging and informative for CAAS’ digital channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other digital platforms necessary.
  • Monitor and manage community engagement, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses to enquiries and online conversations.

Performance Reporting
  • Establish reporting and evaluation processes to continuously measure and improve digital campaigns and strategy effectiveness.
  • Develop and track key digital metrics to measure the effectiveness of digital communications efforts across all platforms.
  • Use analytics and SEO tools (where available) to evaluate our digital performance, reporting on a regular basis and using data and insights to inform social media and digital content plans, ensuring continuous improvement in our digital communication strategy.
  • Manage the digital comms budget, including reporting on outcomes and return of investments.

Team Leadership
  • Provide digital communications advice and support to CAAS’ senior management and divisions to ensure team performance meets organizational goals.
  • Proactively share trends and developments in digital communications and embedding learning to bring improvements across our digital channels.
  • Managing a team of digital communication professionals including internal and outsourced resources e.g. agency account executives, content writers, and web developers.
  • Managing the digital communication budget and allocating resources efficiently.

[What we are looking for]

Essential qualifications, skills and experience expected for this role:

  • Relevant experience in Digital Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or comparable experience
  • Strong understanding of digital communications trends and best practices with at least 5-10 years of relevant experience in a Digital Communications role, preferably in a lead role
  • Experience developing integrated communications plans and working with partners (internal and external) to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Possess strong strategic planning, project management and good organisational capabilities with experience in developing creative content for digital channels/platforms, ensuring success in engaging with target audiences of different levels
  • Experience using Adobe Photo Shop and Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Experience with video and podcast production, and editing techniques and software
  • Experience using content management systems to manage websites
  • Experience with social media platforms and analytics tools
  • Ability to work with senior management to translate management goals into actions
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders with varying concerns, opinions, or information
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment, multi-task, anticipate issues that may arise and handle high-pressure situations
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate clearly.
