  1. Make sure the webpage is open.

  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Steering and Navigation:

  • Steer the vessel according to the course set by the Captain or navigation officer.
  • Monitor navigational instruments and adjust the vessel’s course as needed.
  • Assist in navigation planning and execution.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all maritime safety regulations and protocols.
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of weather conditions and navigational hazards.

Communication:

  • Maintain clear and constant communication with the Captain and other crew members.
  • Relay important navigational information promptly and accurately.
  • Use radio equipment to communicate with other vessels and shore-based facilities.

Operational Support:

  • Assist with docking and undocking procedures.
  • Perform routine checks on navigational equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Support the deck crew with general maintenance and operational tasks.

Log Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of navigational data, course changes, and any incidents.
  • Update the ship’s log as required by maritime regulations and company policies.

Crew Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with the entire crew to ensure smooth and efficient vessel operations.
  • Participate in crew meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional maritime training or certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a maritime role, especially in navigation or deck operations, is highly desirable.
  • Certifications: Valid maritime certifications as required by local and international regulations (e.g., STCW certification).
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of navigation principles and maritime safety.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed on board vessels, often in varying weather conditions.
  • Requires flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and performing manual tasks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $1,600.00 - $2,000.00 per month

Schedule:
