Data Analytics
Conduct advanced statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to formulating scholarship and award schemes for RIE (Research, Innovation, and Enterprise) funding initiatives.
Perform hypothesis testing to evaluate the effectiveness of existing schemes and support evidence-based decision-making for policy refinements.
Develop and maintain data visualization dashboard to present insights in a clear and actionable manner for stakeholders.
Data Ownership
Serve as the primary gatekeeper of A*GA data in all internal and external contexts, ensuring: (1) concise and accurate presentation of data in slides and reports; and (2) timely updates of data, ensuring only the latest and most relevant data is used.
Manage data requests to ensure compliance with policies and guidelines, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of data.
Utilize the A*GA data repository effectively to support Parliamentary Questions (PQs) and respond to media queries with accuracy and speed.
Oversight of Data Governance and Collection Strategies
Establish and implement robust data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with organizational standards.
Design and refine data collection strategies, incorporating innovative methods such as integration of Whole-of-Government (WOG) data into the A*GA ecosystem. His/her work include using web scraping techniques to source and update the whereabouts of scholars.
Elevate Data Knowledge and Competencies in A*GA
Develop and deliver 'train-the-trainer' masterclasses to upskill A*GA staff in data analytics, visualization, and governance practices. This is to facilitate a culture of continuous learning and data-driven decision-making within the organization.
Identify and source WOG data support to bolster AI and machine learning initiatives, aligning with strategic goals in innovation and technology.
Job Requirements
8 to 10 years of relevant working experience
At least a degree in Data Science and Analytics or Statistics or Mathematics or Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent would be preferred
Good leadership skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver positive results
Strong analytical thinking skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
Proficient in Microsoft applications, and relevant experience in using data analytics software tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, etc) and automation software tools (e.g. MS Power Automate) will be an advantage
Ability to work under tight timelines when required
