Summary:

The Application Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, management, and execution of complex application development and implementation projects. This role requires a strong leader with deep understanding of project management methodologies, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and experience in managing large-scale, enterprise-level application projects. The Application Project Director will work closely with stakeholders across various business units to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and scope, and meet the strategic objectives of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure, including planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Assemble and manage cross-functional project teams, including internal staff, external vendors, and consultants.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Facilitate decision-making and conflict resolutions.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
  • Proactively identify and assess potential project risks and issues.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
  • Escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.
  • Perform risk management to minimize or mitigate project risks.
  • Monitor and track project risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Management:
  • Ensure that projects are delivered to the highest quality standards.
  • Define and implement quality control processes and procedures.
  • Create and maintain quality project documentation.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and audits to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Budget and Cost Management:
  • Develop and manage project budgets, including tracking and forecasting project expenses.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on time.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization strategies.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Establish, manage relationships with external vendors, third parties and consultants.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Oversee vendor performance and deliverables and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years of experience managing large-scale application development projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time, within budget and scope.
  • Proven experience of managing a team.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and SDLC.
  • Experience with various project management tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented for ensuring projects progress efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Valid PMP certification is preferred.

Additional Skills (depending on specific needs):

  • Experience with specific technologies or application domains (e.g., cloud computing, mobile applications, ERP systems).
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience with business process improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $8,000.00 - $12,000.00 per month
