Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations Management:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate vehicle dispatch for deliveries to ensure timely distribution.
- Monitor fleet movements and adjust schedules in real-time to optimize routes and delivery efficiency.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet utilization, on-time deliveries, and fuel efficiency.
Driver Coordination & Compliance:
- Assign delivery routes to drivers and ensure adherence to safety and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of driver schedules, hours of service, and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions for drivers.
Fleet Maintenance & Compliance:
- Ensure all vehicles undergo regular inspections, servicing, and maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
- Monitor vehicle registrations, insurance, permits, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with mechanics and external service providers for repairs and maintenance.
Logistics & Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact between warehouse teams, drivers, and customers regarding delivery updates and issues.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints related to deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
- Use fleet management software and GPS tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routes.
Cost Control & Efficiency Improvement:
- Monitor fuel usage and implement cost-saving measures to improve fleet efficiency.
- Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for reducing transportation costs.
- Work with procurement teams to source vehicles, spare parts, and fuel at competitive rates.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate logs and records of fleet operations, incidents, and maintenance schedules.
- Prepare reports on fleet performance, expenses, and compliance for management review.
- Ensure proper documentation of invoices, delivery notes, and driver logs.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in fleet coordination, logistics, or transportation management.
- Strong understanding of fleet management systems, GPS tracking, and routing software.
- Knowledge of transportation laws, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and logistics software.
- Able to work 5.5 days workweek
